Here are some tips you can do to your home in order to receive high value either for selling or applying for home equity:
Improve the lighting. If you use bulbs to light your home, then it is time for you to get nice piece of chandelier and ceiling fixture. This would give your home better effects and will surely highlight your furniture. Concentrate on major areas of your home where people mostly gather like the living room and the dinning area. In this way, you need not have to spend too much on other parts of your home. Or, if you already have chandeliers, try to replace some parts to make it look brand new. This will surely increase the value of your home.
Provide good flooring. So you already have carpets? No problem. Just try to add some rugs on the floor. You don’t need to change the whole flooring. All you have to do is to select areas where there are needs to improve.
The bathroom. If you opt to sell your home, one of the areas where buyers look first is the bathroom. In fact, for some buyers, the bathroom would make or break the deal. So make sure that you provide them with clean and cozy bathroom. You don’t need to tear down those tiles and replace it with the new ones. Just make it look clean and new and it is enough. You can also change the toilet seat and sink. This would add more appeal to your bathroom and would definitely increase the value of your home.
Kitchen. New fixtures on the kitchen would definitely attract higher value to your home. You don’t need to renovate it; you just have to change little details that would create big effects to your kitchen. A new faucet, door handles and cabinet handles would definitely do the job. A few hundred dollars would certainly spice up your kitchen.
Furniture. You don’t have to replace all your old living room with new one. All you have to do is to reupholster your living room. Make it up to date, modern or contemporary. This will definitely increase the value of your home.
Add details to the wall. Cheap frames would not in increase the value of your home but it would definitely add more effects to other valuables beside it. These details would certainly attract appeal to buyers and realtors.
So, there you go. No need to change your whole house. Just do some minor changes that would bring major effects on the overall appearance and value of your home.
