Goose Down Blankets and Asthma: What Prevents an Attack

Dust mite, while being relatively small (50 dust mites can fit the head of a pin), have been plaguing mankind since time immemorial. Although a single dust mite cant harm us, the truth lies in number. There are around 2 million of them now sharing with you your bed. So don't wonder why they make such a nuisance.
These tiny irritations are best resolved by frequent vacuuming, washing of blankets and linens and regular bed cleaning. Working on them would create you some trouble though. However your trouble will all be worth it especially if you are quickly irritated to pests and other elements. But nowadays, you may find solace in new lines of anti-dust mite items.
If dust mites are resolved, you may find other problems that will cause you much concern. The most typical of them is health. Lets start.

Meaning, there is lack of symptoms that will characterize the presence of the condition.
While we feel comfortable with our goose down beds, there are people who are especially irritated to this material that down may even cause the onset of the asthma. Authorities in the condition asserts that even the coverings of our mattresses, blankets, pillows and no longer provide us protection against the irritants from where asthma attacks can root.
Although goose down items are bought covered, dust mites, dust and other elements can still penetrate the encasings of the products. However, like with all other zippered encasings one must venture to techniques that will prevent allergens from reaching you. It is best to use duck tape and other adhesive materials to help strengthen zippered closures.
Avoid also the use of beds with padded headboards, as these may become the nesting place of dust mites. It is highly recommend that an asthmatic make use of iron, steel and wood headboards that are regularly cleaned to avert dust formation.
Lastly, if you are using goose down blanket, secure to it that blankets, pillows and comforters are washed every once in a while to remove any unwanted elements.
A practice such as this will help greatly in diminishing the frequency of your asthma attacks.
