The state of Michigan is undoubtedly the automotive capital in the US. Michigan is the home of US car giants Ford, Chrysler and General Motors and several international auto manufacturers. With the continued production of new vehicles each it is not hard to imagine that the number of old cars pile up in the different part of the state.
An old car becomes less and less reliable and sooner or later will eventually become useless and a hassle to drive. Charities across Michigan are giving owners of old cars to dispose their struggling rides easily and at the same time help in a noble cause.
A completed donation will also result in a tax deduction for the donor, who can file the benefit in his next individual tax submission.
Car donations can be picked up in the following locations across the state including Lansing, Flint, Battle Creek, Lapeer, Saginaw, Mount,Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Port Huron, Muskegon, St. Johns, and Big Rapids. Vehicles that are donated will help a charity organization recognized by the Internal Services Revenue.
The car's title is normally required in a donation. Donors that have lost the document can request for a new copy from the Michigan Motor Vehicle Department. Michigan charities accept vehicle donations ranging from cars, trucks, RVs, SUVs, boats.

The Arthritis Foundation - Michigan Chapter
The Arthritis Foundation was organized in 1948 at the University of Michigan in 1948. The group's main mission is to fight the growth of arthritis, which is the most debilitating disease in Michigan. It also serves as the state's sole voluntary health agency for research, education and improved treatment for the over 100 types of arthritis.
The Arthritis Foundation operates various arthritis awareness programs and other community-oriented services. The group believes a car donation is vote of confidence to its cause.
The Coalition On Temporary Shelter
Founded in 1981 to help solve the sharply rising problem crisis of homelessness in Detroit, Michigan. The charity runs a various housing programs and support services. Given its need to transport families to different locations the group needs an adequate number of vehicles to drive its cause.
A car donation for the Coalition on Temporary Shelter will be a major boost to its mission to serve those without shelter.
Cranbrook Educational Community
Known for being one of the top centers for education, science and art in the world, The Cranbrook Educational Community operates a contemporary Art Museum, graduate Academy of Art, natural history museum and House & Gardens.
The group was founded in 1904 by Detroit philanthropists Ellen and George Booth. The organization's campus houses works of world-renowned architects. Cranbrook has been labelled a National Historic Landmark. In addition to cash donations, Cranbook also accepts cars and other vehicles that can be used in its different programs.
